Rock Star: The 1966 Batmobile

This vehicle is a star in its own right

According to the Internet Movie Data Base, the 2001 movie Rock Star “… was inspired by the real-life story of Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, singer in a Judas Priest cover band who was chosen to replace singer Rob Halford when he left Judas Priest.” Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston starred in this movie.

One feature of this movie was a 1966-style Batmobile. The vehicle, a replica of the 1966 George Barris creation used in the Batman television series, is owned by Dan Rodriguez. Just as the original was based on a Lincoln (a 1955 Futura concept car), this vehicle started off as a speciman of Ford’s luxury marquee (a 1972 Lincoln Mark IV). Shown in such venues as the 2005 Super Mega Show and in Chiller Theatre, this vehicle draws crowds!
